Every year, on the Friday of Festival weekend, about a hundred children from three local primary schools come to the big marquee to enjoy a day of food-related activities.
Last year, thanks to the National Deaf Children’s Society, the children were joined by 15 children with significant hearing loss who also took part in everything. Not only did the children have a great day, the signer who came with them enjoyed himself so much that he returned on Saturday to sign for some of our chef demonstrations.
This year another group of deaf children will join us on Education Day and more of our weekend events will also be signed.
