Food journalist, restaurateur, True Taste Champion
‘The most wanted food critic in Britain today’ - Gordon Ramsay
- Restaurant critic (AA Restaurant Guide)
- Journalist (The Guardian, The Mirror, Radio Times, The Caterer etc etc)
- Television presenter (BBC ‘The Wright Taste’)
- Radio broadcaster (BBC Radio Wales ‘Wales on the Menu’ 2010)
- Restaurant consultant (‘Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares’)
- Restaurateur (Y Polyn)
- Farmer (See his book ‘The Wright Taste’ - Gomer)
Simon is passionate about good food: ethically produced, locally sourced, well cooked, served without fuss and enjoyed with gusto. He was awarded the title True Taste Champion in the 2010-2011 Wales the True Taste awards.
Until recently a joint owner of Y Polyn, near Carmarthen, Simon is now a director of recently opened Sosban in Llanelli
Like Jamie Oliver, Simon worries about what children eat and how it affects them, as he showed in his 2009 BBC Wales programme, ‘What are we doing to our kids?’ Like us, he believes that it’s more important to give children the opportunity and encouragement to cook and eat tasty, wholesome food than to tell them what they shouldn’t be eating.
