We are already planning an exciting and fun programme of activities for Education Day 2010.

When?
24th September 2010 - the Friday of Festival weekend.

Where?
In the Festival Main Marquee.

Why?
The Festival is a community event for people of all ages.

Who?
About 100 Year 5/6 pupils from Narberth CP School and two other local primary schools.
(In 2009: Brynconin CP School and St Aidan’s VA School, Wiston)

What?
A programme of talks, demonstrations, tastings and hands-on activities.

Each year’s programme is different. This is what happened in 2009:

Theme: Taste not Waste

Morning activities:
Bees & honey – talk and taste
Bunting - design
Friends of the Earth
Glamorgan sausages – make, cook, eat!
Ice - cream & fruit
Kitchen safety - hand-washing test and basic first aid
Potato mice – make and eat
Sausage - making
Tasty bites (canapés)

Lunchtime:
Dishes - prepared and presented by international students from Pembrokeshire College
Soup-tasting & recipe - by Health Challenge Pembrokeshire’s Family Challenge Project
Music while you eat - Gaz & guitar

Afternoon sessions:
Cookery demonstration – by Young Chef of the Year from Ludlow (our twin town)
In the Victorian kitchen – talk (and sing-along!) with Mrs Beeton
Bunting-making – for decorating the Festival’s Talks Tent
