Who?
Year 10 catering students
What?
Source, price and cook a meal for 4
Why?
To give young chefs a chance to test their skills
To encourage healthy eating and fun cooking using local produce
To recognise the importance of catering skills for young people and society
Who decides?
Preliminary judging by a College lecturer; final judged by a celebrity chef
(2009: Jethro Lawrence, award-winning chef of The Carreg, Narberth.)
Any prizes?
For all finalists: an apron from Pembrokeshire College and a certificate from Narberth Food Festival
For the winning team: cookery books presented by Pembrokeshire College
For the winning school: a prize presented by Dyments of Narberth (2009: a food blender)
Presentation of all prizes will be on the morning of Sunday 26th September 2010, when the winning team will demonstrate their menu in the Talks Tent at the Festival.
